A TALK WITH ASTRID FOR BSSW AND BS PSYCH STUDENTS

The College of Arts and Sciences – Psychology and Social Work Department, in cooperation with the Kalipay Negrense Foundation Inc., conducted ”The Talk on Trauma-Informed Case Management” last February 10, 2023, at UNO-R President’s Hall.

Third-Year Psychology students, Fourth-Year Social Work students, and students from the Recoletos de Bacolod Graduate School students attended the seminar with the SDPC Guidance Counselors. The resource speaker was Astrid Hockings, President of the Hearts and Hands Community Development of Australia. The seminar was about Info Dissemination on Psychoeducation on addressing trauma, real-life experiences of the survivors and their resiliency, and awareness of the beneficial services given to the Foundation.

Moreover, the attendees learned the simple process of conducting Child Therapy Sessions. The discussion was also associated with one of their subjects as part of the Introduction to Clinical Psychology. ( news from Jen Agudelo, PR intern)
