3 CAS faculty members win in the 3rd International Conference on Multidisciplinary Research

Three faculty members from the College of Arts and Sciences were recognized during the 3rd International Conference on Multidisciplinary Research held at Planta Centro Hotel, Feb. 7 – 9. In the Science and Technology Category, Mr. Ronnie G. Gicana’s study on “Re-used Palm Cooking Oil Exhibits In-vitro Matagenecity” got first place (Diamond), while, Mr. Robert John Lamis’ study on “Kefir Probiotics Improved the Sensory Quality of Cooked Chicken Meat” placed second (Platinum). On the other hand, in the Education and Training Category (Mathematics), Mr. Francis Jose Bearneza’s study on “The Level of Performance of First Year UNO-R College Students in College Algebra” got fourth place (Silver). There were 392 delegates from Hanyang University, South Korea; Qassim University, Saudi Arabia; Sebelas Maret University, Indonesia; University of Quebec Montreal, Canada; University of Chicago, USA; and, Private and State Universities in the Philippines. The Research and Accreditation Office spearheaded this activity together with these cooperating agencies: International Association of Multidisciplinary Research (IAMURE), Philippine Association of Institutions for Research (PAIR), Commission on Higher Education (CHED), and National Organization of Science Teachers and Educators (NOSTE). “Research and Development Education in Building a New Knowledge Economy” was the theme for the said event.
