Katrina Alexis Narcida from St. Scholastica’s Academy for the high school level and Beverly Apple Remo from West Negros University for the college level were the champions in the 7th Province-wide News casting competition held on Sept. 8 at the SM City Event Center.
First runner –up for high school level was Allen Rey Silva from Domingo Lacson National High School and Khryzia Beatrize Montalbo from Bacolod Tay Tung High School was the second runner – up. For the college level, Lady Lehi Lambayong and Allen Lacson from USLS were the first and second runners – up.
Narcida and Lacson were Best in English; Silva and Remo were Best in Hiligaynon; Kathleen Chua from St. John’s Institute and Christian Bayoneta from Colegio San Agustin-Bacolod were Best in Filipino; and Bayoneta got the KBP’s Choice Award.
The winners will represent Negros Occidental in the Regional News casting Competition.
Meanwhile, the grand finals for elementary level will be on Sept. 15 at Robinson’s Place Bacolod.
The competition is a joint project of UNO-R MassComm Dept. and ABS-CBN Bacolod.
