“All of us are budding authors.”

UNO-R Vice President Joel Alve, OAR, in his acknowledgement and inspirational message on the occasion of the official book launching of Biology: A Laboratory Manual and the College Physics 1 Laboratory Manual, encouraged the members of the College of Arts and Sciences and the whole UNO-R community to follow the examples of book authors, CAS Faculty Ronnie Gicana and Dr. Vilma Azucena, by becoming book writers.

VP-Academics Fr. Joel Alve, OAR, delivering his acknowledgement and inspirational sppech during the book launching

Comparing the book launching of Gicana’s Biology: A Laboratory Manual and Dr. Azucena’s College Physics 1 Laboratory Manual  to the birthing of a newborn, he recognized the pains and sacrifices of the two authors and congratulated them for their perseverance and passion for sharing their knowledge and wisdom to the students.

Describing book writing as a sleepless, long process, which is sometimes discouraging, and non-compensating in terms of monetary reward, he said, “the real reward is when one sees the ideas come to life as the students live what have been written” and when the ideas and thoughts being shared “will multiply as your colleagues attune their experiences with what you have written.”

In behalf of the OAR Fathers at UNO-R, Fr. Alve congratulated and blessed the authors and encouraged them to continue inspiring and guiding others, to become the light in the dark and to be human among humans.#
