Bishop Vicente Navarra, D.D. opened the forum by stating its objective of giving the mayoralty candidates the chance to present the facts of their plans for the city. The bishop also encouraged those in the media to really report the truth and to stand by the truth.
Representatives from the media and non-media comprised the panel of interviewers. Director of Student Affairs, Mr. Carlos Legaspi, Jr., was panelist in behalf of the academe. Issues pertaining to education, infrastructure, health, livelihood, and urban housing were among the topics discussed by Mayor Evelio Leonardia, Congressman Monico Puentevella, Atty. Andrea Lizares-Si, and Mr. Vladimir Gonzales.
The 3rd Bishop-Media Forum was made possible through the efforts of the Diocesan Commission on Social Commissions composed of Fr. Felix Pasquin, Bro. Jaazeal Jakosalem, OAR, Mr. Ernest Latiza of USLS , and Mr. Modesto Sa-onoy, a Negros historian.
