The Blue and Gold Alumni Association (BGAA), in cooperation with HS Class ’94, HS Class ’79, and HS Class ’69, celebrated the Grand Alumni Homecoming, September 28, 2019. The celebration opened with a Thanksgiving Mass at the Auditorium with Fray Jose Teodulfo Jadulco, OAR. A program with the theme, “Celebrate the School Spirit with the HS Class 1994” followed at the main lobby at 10 am. Atty. Kristin Grace Abunda, President of Silver Jubilarians class ‘94, welcomed the alumni while Dr. Angelus Diamante, President of the BGAA and Fray Ronel Gealon, OAR, VP –Administration, gave the welcome address and the Inspirational message respectively. Bacolod Vice Mayor and CBA alumnus, El Cid Familiaran, gave the recollections from an alumnus. Dr. Carlos Legaspi, Jr., BGAA PIO and UNO-R Director for External Affairs, presented the recipients for the 2019 BGAA Distinguished Alumni Achievers Award and responses were made by 2 alumni awardees from Class ’94, Elizabeth Rose Lo and Arvin Losañes. After lunch, Ms. Letecia Yee, a former teacher of UNO-R, gave her message to all her students. Golden Jubilarians came wearing their High School uniform.
The Grand Alumni Night was held at SMX Convention Center with the theme, “Reliving the Past, Redefining the Future”. The program opened with the Message from HS Class ‘79 President, Greg Sison and followed by the Inspirational Message of Fr. President. After dinner, Outstanding Alumni Achievers were awarded by Fr. President, Dr. Diamante and Mr. Sison. Mr. Ruperto J. Demonteverde, 2019 Most Outstanding Alumnus gave the response and reminisce his memories with UNO-R. The proposed project for the renovation and restoration of the university auditorium was presented by Dr. Legaspi. Call for Benefactors, Donors and sponsors were appealed to the alumni assembly. Batch ’94 and ’79 gave an initial donation. The night swept away with the dances from the different batches.
