UNIVERSITY JOINS THE 1ST NIR – PRISAA.

The First Negros Island Private Schools Athletic Association (NIR-PRISAA) finally kicked off as 12 competing schools across NIR convened for its opening ceremony at STI West Negros University Gymnasium on April 26. Dr. Ryan Mark Molina, 2ND vp OF THE National PRISAA, was quoted saying, “We were dreaming of coming up with a team for Negros Island because we wanted to give opportunities to everybody. And that dream finally came true. Indeed, the future of Negros Sport is happening now.” the best athletes will represent the NIR at the National Level at Legaspi City, Albay, in July. Menaves is crowned 1st Ms. NIR-PRISAA

UNO-R College of Business and Accountancy Student and Miss UNO-R 2023 Uriel Minaves is the 1st Mutya ng Negros Island Private Schools Athletic Association (NIPRISAA). STI West Negros University’s Christine Gadiana is the first runner-up, while the University of St. La Salle Bacolod’s Jada Biaxyl Celeste is the second runner-up. Minaves will represent the Negros Island Region for National PRISAA at Legaspi City, Albay on July. STI-WNU and the University of St. La Salle were the first and second runners-up, respectively.

Also, UNO-Rians won in the Negros Island Private Schools Athletic Association (NIR-PRISAA) competition held at STI West Negros University last April 26, 2024. Rosalie Grace Vales from the College of Business and Accountancy placed 1st Runner-up in Vocal Solo, and John Patrick Gochuico, a BS Civil Engineering student, and Alexandra Jan Franco, a BS Psychology student, placed 2nd runner-up in Vocal Duet.;

Villaram.   For the College Athletics -women, Angel Bacaro – 10k (Gold), 5k (Gold), and Relay 4X4 (silver); Marla Bacaro – long Jump (Gold), Triple Jump (Gold), High Jump (Gold), Relay 4×4 and 4×1 (silver); Angel Cho – 100m (Bronze), 200m (silver), relay 4×4 and 4×1 (Silver); Anglica Cho – Relay 4×1 (silver); Rose Ann Esmedia – Discus Throw (Gold), Shotput (Bronze), Javelin Throw (Bronze); Marnel May Labanza – 5K Walkathon (Gold), 10K (Silver), 3k (Gold); Ciara Largavista – 400m (Silver), 800m (Gold), 1,500m (Gold); and Ella Villarias – 110m Hurdle (Silver), Javelin Throw(Silver).
