Fr. Joel Alve, OAR, celebrated his 30th anniversary of Simple Profession of vows last April 29 with his fellow jubilarians, Fr. Jose Ernil Almayo, OAR, Fr. Charlito Orobia, OAR, and Fr. Randy Castillo, OAR, at the Oratory of St. Nicholas of Tolentine in Bacolod City. A Thanksgiving Mass with their brothers in Bacolod and San Carlos was held.
In his homily, Fr. Almayo shared 3 points of the celebration. He first shared that the three of them represent the whole country. He represents Mindanao, Fr. Alve represents Visayas, and Fr. Orobia represents Luzon.
He considered themselves the four little Indians living under the grace of God. He then shared that religious life exempted from sufferings for he who loves suffers, but our consolation in our sufferings is that God is always with us and continues to reveal His presence. So, we continue to put our trust in God.
The three then renewed their vows before God and the community. Fr. Romeo Ben Potencio, Jr, OAR, Vice Prior of the Recoletos de Bacolod community, led the renewal of vows of the three jubilarians. Fr. Charlie did the message of thanks and requests for prayers.
