UNO-R HOLDS CARITAS ET SCIENTIA AWARDS

                The University of Negros Occidental – Recoletos held its Caritas et Scientia Awards and Recognition of faculty and alumni achievers last April 22, 2022, at the Plata Hotel and Residences in Bacolod City.  The awarding ceremony opened with a Thanksgiving Mass led by Fray Persiuz Joseph Decena, OAR, and was joined by Fray William Villaflor, OAR; Fray Cristituto Palomar, OAR; Fray Don Besana, OAR; Fray Jose Alden Alipin, OAR and Fray Amadeo Lucero, OAR.

Dr. Raul C. Alvarez, REE, CESO III, Regional Director, CHEDRO VI; Engr. Charlene Grace V. Gelotin, 2nd place in the 2021 Civil Engineering Licensure Examinations; Dr. Inez S. Benedicto, RMT, 1st place, Physicians’ Licensure Examinations; and Dr. Patrick Mabugat, RMT, 2nd Place, Physicians Licensure Examinations and Hon. Judge Ferdinand Elbert Jomilla were recipients of the Alumni achievers awards. Recognition was also given to the faculty of the School of Law of were recently appointed as RTC judges. They are Hon. Judge Fernand Castro; Hon Judge Ma. Lina Gonzaga and Hon. Judge Maria Mercedes Odango – Saril. In behalf of Dr. Alvarez, his daughter received the award and delivered a speech.

Meanwhile, The Caritas et Scientia Awards were given to Dr. Socorro Victoria L. de Leon, OAR; and Hon. Justice Franklin J. Demonteverde. Dr. De Leon was represented by her daughter because she has to be in Manila for her admission as “Hermana Provincial” of the OAR Province of St. Ezekiel Moreno.
