UNO-R HOLDS A WEBINAR ON THE SCIENCE OF RUNNING

A free sports webinar on “The Science of Running” was conducted last November 26, 2021, with coach Todd Nunan as resource speaker. Coach Todd is coaching track and cross running in the middle school, secondary, and collegiate levels at the Idaho State University, USA. He holds a degree in Athletic Administration and Neural Kinesiology and has completed a Master’s Thesis on Biomechanics of running. Fray Amadeo Lucero, OAR gave the words of welcome and Dr. Dexter Paul Dioso gave the opening message. Participants during the webinar were the UNO-R varsity athletes, Mr. Peter Jaena, who is handling Physical Education classes at the IS; Miss Diana Caceres from the Tolentine Star, and a parent of one of our athletes who is also into running. According to the speaker, running is always very easy, but we should always know our limits, learn the proper mechanics and we should train to maximize our performance. Learning how the body responds to running activity is important to a well-balanced training regime. (news from Sports Office)
