The Religious and Lay Administrators (RELAY) Conference was held last September 30, 2021, at 8:00 via Zoom. The conference with the theme. “UNO-R: Moving Towards Internationalization” was sponsored by the Vice President for Academics. The activity opened with the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass led by Fray Persiuz Joseph Decena, OAR. After the opening formalities, Fray Jose Alden B. Alipin, OAR gave the welcome remarks.
Far Eastern University administrator Dr. Aisa P. Arlos introduced the invited speaker, Dr. Myrna P. Quinto, Vice President for Academic Development of Far Eastern University. Dr. Quinto shared the internationalization experiences of FEU and anchored her sharing with CHED Memo #55 s. 2016 otherwise known as Policy Framework and Strategies on the Internationalization of Philippine Education. She also stressed that the objectives of internationalization are to Promote quality higher education; to translate into a competitive labor force; to hone employability skills, global and adaptable mindset; and improve quality assurance of programs.
After the sharing of Dr. Quinto, the participants were divided into groups to deepen what was shared and make rough plans for the adoption of internationalization at UNO-R.
Fray Don Besana, OAR thanked the speaker and gave his closing remarks. Internationalization must be coupled also with interiority (going back to our roots) and we need to be reminded that in all we do we transform society at the service of Love, Fr. President remarked.
