October 21, 2019, Administrators and students from Catholic Educational Association of the Philippines (CEAP) schools in Bacolod City gathered at the Social Hall of the Provincial Capitol Building to witness the signing of the Memorandum of Agreement between the Diocese of Bacolod and Provincial Government for “Panggas” , a tree –growing project initiated by the Social Action Center of the Diocese of Bacolod. Most Reverend Patricio Buzon, SDB, DD, Bishop of Bacolod and Neg. Occ. Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson signed the agreement together with the Diocesan Social action Center Director, Fr. Chris Gonzales and Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) Technical Services Division Chief, Ms Cathy Balasa. After the ceremonial signing, the group proceeded to the Negros Forest park, a bio-diversity conservation center and were given an orientation about the agency’s program and function. After which, a symbolic tree planting was participated by each school who are CEAP members, namely, St. Scholastica’s Academy; Sta. Teresita Academy, Holy Family High School, St. Joseph – la Salle; Colegio de San Agustin –Bacolod; LCC, UNO-R, USLS. (Ms. Mabel Gonzales, UCDO)
