FR. PRESIDENT LEADS INSTITUTIONAL MASS OF THE HOLY SPIRIT

Fray Don H. Besana, OAR, University President led the Con-celebrated Mass in honor of the Holy Spirit to usher Academic Year 2019-2020. He was joined by Fray Amadeo Lucero, OAR; Fray Jose Teodulfo Jadulco, OAR; Fray Jose Alden B. Alipin, OAR; and Fray Cristituto Palomar, OAR. In his homily, Fr. President reminded everyone that the greatest power from God is the Holy Spirit. He should be the inspiration of everyone. He also reiterated the things that symbolize the Holy Spirit: Water, Air and Fire – Water as the source of life; Air as the source of breath, and Fire as the source of heat.

Fray Besana also reminded everyone as young people, we should feel that we are empowered, beloved and gifted. As empowered, we need to believe that God is always with us and He gives us power. As beloved children of God, we should feel the Holy Spirit as a spirit of love. Like the love for our parents, we need to show God our love for Him. And As gifted, God has given us all the gifts and the greatest of which is the gift of the Holy Spirit. The Father President also reminded the faculty to strive to be loved rather than be feared. He reminds them that they are pedagogues and the primary thing to do is to be the students to the great teacher – Christ.

He also reminded the students that the university looks at your values over your grades. We need God, we ask for God and for the Holy Spirit. We ask for the gifts of the Holy Spirit (all 7 of them) to be bestowed upon all of us.
