UNO-R HOSTS 31ST SCORES

THE 31st Student Congress of Recollect Schools (SCORES) is now held at the University of Negros Occidental – Recoletos, Bacolod City with the theme, “Recollect Youth: Communicators of truth and Mercy.” SCORES will run from January 23 – 27, 2017.

Delegates from the nine Recollect schools in the country started to arrive at around 7:30 am, January 23. A Eucharistic celebration led by Msgr. Louie Galbines, VG with Fr. President Eduardo Celiz, Jr. OAR; House Prior, Fr. William Villaflor, OAR; REAP President, Fr. Julius Marcos, OAR; Fr. Ronel Gealon, OAR; Fr. Louie Gabinete, OAR; Fr. Persiuz Joseph Decena, OAR and CST-R School Head, Fr. Joel Alve, OAR opens the Congress. Fr. President and Fr. Marcos gave their messages to the young students during the Opening program after the Mass. Turn- over of delegates to host families and a dinner with chaperones and administrators recap the 1st-day activities tagged as “the Gathering”.

On Jan. 24, the 2nd day sub-themed as “The Voice of the Youth”, starts with a Holy Mass with Fr. Celiz at 7:30 at the Oratory. A talk about the Recollect Youth by Rev. Fr. Albert Pellazar, OAR, UNO-R VP- Academics at the President’s Hall at 8:30 which shall be followed by activities at 10 am. Another talk on “Communicators of Truth and Mercy” by Rev. Fr. Roy Gesulgon, Sacred Heart Seminary Dean of Studies and incoming Chancellor of the Diocese of Bacolod, follows after lunch at 1 pm will start the afternoon activities. The Sacrament of Reconciliation will be administered from 3:30 to 5:30 pm at the Oratory. A Praise and Worship concert at the Main lobby at 6 pm caps the 2nd-day activities.

The third day, January 25, the day opens with a Eucharistic celebration with Fr. Villaflor, Recoletos de Bacolod House Prior and UNO-R VP-Finance OAR at 7:30 am. A tour to Campuestohan Resort in Talisay will start at 8:30. The afternoon will be utilized for rehearsals for the cultural night. Cultural Night will start at 5:30 at the university gym. January 26 opens with the Mass with Fr. Ronel Gealon, OAR, UNO-R Director of Religious Education, UCDO Consultant and SHS Guidance Counsellor at 7:30. The delegates shall then proceed to the Recoletos Social Outreach Center in Handumanan (RESOURCE-Handumanan) for the outreach component of the congress. In the afternoon, a plenary meeting with the delegates and chaperones. At 3 pm to 6 pm will be allotted for the delegates bonding with their respective host families. Dinner with the delegates will start at 6 pm at Vikings’ Bacolod.

SCORES will come to a close on Jan. 27 with the Eucharistic celebration with Fr. Persiuz Joseph Decena, OAR, at 7:30 and a closing program at 8:30 am at the President’s Hall. Mrs. Leila Magalona, MAEd, UNO-R Junior High School Principal The congress will formally close with the send-off ceremony at 10:30 am. will close the whole activity.
