UNOR RAMS CLAIMS 6TH STRAIGHT WIN IN NOPSSCEA

Defending champion UNO-Recoletos routed VMAGC, 106-79, Saturday then demolished CSA-B, 75 – 56, to stay undefeated with six straight wins in the NOPSSCEA season 36 men’s Basketball at the STA-WNU Gym. With only one playing schedule left in the elimination round, the RAMS are poised to take the No. 1 spot in the team rankings while last year’s runner-up, USLS Stingers and host STI-WNU Mustangs are tied at no. 2 with an identical 5-1 win-loss card. The Mustangs cruised to an easy win Saturday after the Sacred Heart Seminary Squad forfeited the game while USLS stamped their class over LCC-Bacolod, 91-78. “Our target is to successfully defend our title this year. We had the chance two years ago but we failed, RAMS head coach Gerome Aledron said. Asked on what team he picked to face the RAMS in the finals, the UNO-R Coach said, it will be exciting if they play against STI-WNU. During their first encounter this season, the RAMS beat the Mustangs, 73-71. It was the latter’s only lose in the tournament as the team went on to hurdle the rest of their assignments, including the 71-70 victory against USLS Stingers on Nov. 27.
