LAW STUDENT JOINS US FELLOWSHIP PROGRAM

A student from the UNO-Recoletos School of Law has been selected as one of the youth fellows to represent the country in the Young South East Asian Leaders Initiative(YSEALI )Academic Fellowship Program on September 2 – October 10, 2016 at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, USA. YSEALI is a project of US president Barrack Obama which is an intensive academic program whose purpose is to provide groups of student leaders with a deeper understanding of the United States. UNO-R Law School student Christine Thel A. Geollegue will join the YSEALI – Civic Engagement program. The YSEALI Civic Engagement Program will provide Fellows with an overview of how US citizens, as individuals and as groups, shape their history, government, and society. Citizenship, community building, economic development, grassroots activism, political leadership and volunteerism are the main topics to be explored. Industry engagement will also be done on the duration of the program.
