Rev. Fr. Loreto Ceasar Dacanay, OAR passed away at 1:28 am on July 4, 2016. He is the vice –Prior of Recoletos de Bacolod community. He was born on February 10, 1962, in Baguio City to Jose Dacanay and Valeriana Hufana. He finished his elementary education from Aringay Pilot Elementary School in Aringay, La Union in 1975; He finished his secondary education from Notre Dame Institute in Aringay, La Union in 1979. He took up Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy at Seminario Mayor –Recoletos, Baguio City in 1983 and his Theological studies from Marcilla, Navarra, Spain. He had his simple profession on June 10, 1984; Solemn Profession on October 24, 1987, in Marcilla, Spain and was ordained to the Sacred Priesthood on August 28, 1988, at the San Sebastian Basilica in Manila. His assignments include Chaplain of USJ-R, Cebu (1988); Chaplain/Formator of CST-R, San Carlos(1988-1992); Asst. Parish Priest of Our Lady of Consolation Parish, Talisay City, Cebu(1992); Parish Priest of Our Lady of Peace and Good Voyage, Tondo (1992-1994); Missionary at Panuini, Amazonas, Brazil (1994-2000); Pre-Novitiate Director of Bahay Lingkod –Recoletos, Antipolo City(2000-2002); Missionary in Canutama, Brazil and Tapaua, Brazil (2002-2009); Chaplain of San Pedro Academy in Caidiocan, Valencia, Negros Oriental (2009); Missionary to Panuini, Amazonas, Brazil; and resident Priest, then Property Administrator of UNO-Recoletos, Bacolod City (2014 – present date). Community Masses were celebrated at the Oratory by OAR Community of UNO-R ( July 5, 7 am); San Carlos (July 5, 3 pm;) Talisay 9 (July 5, 7pm); Concelebrated Mass with the Bishop (July 6, 9:30 am); UNO-R community Mass (July 7, 9:30). Before his ashes were sent-off to Luzon, the UNO-R community held a Necrological service.
