The Diocese of Bacolod and the community of the UNO-Recoletos, in unity with the Order of Augustinian Recollects, celebrate the centennial of the death of Padre Mauricio Ferrero, OAR, the Recollect Builder of Bacolod. (1915-2016)
A press conference will be held on May 16 at the Bishop’s House Conference Room at 10 AM. The panel members are Bishop Vicente M. Navarra, D.D.; Fr. Abraham Latoza, OAR; Prof. Emmanuel Romanillos; Fr. Segundo Chua; Fr. Ireneo Gordoncillo; and Sir Modesto Sa-onoy. A symposium for the clergy of the Diocese of Bacolod will be held the next day.
The official launching of the centennial jubilee is on June 20. This is highlighted with a Mass at the Cathedral to be followed by a caravan and the opening of exhibits. A series of whole day lectures and conferences with “Lakbay –aral” in the afternoon will be held on August 19 at UNO-R; September 10 and 20 at the Capitol Social Hall; and in October and November.
December 8 is scheduled for the highlight of the celebration.
