The University of Negros Occidental Walk of Fame project Coordinators, Mrs. Connie Po, and Mr. Antonio Gargarita, in cooperation with the UNO-Recoletos de Bacolod Graduate School and the Parish of San Antonio Abad, held a night of recognition at the Po’s residence, March 29, 2016. In a simple program emceed by Mrs. Judy Legaspi and directed by Dr. Reymund Sabay, given recognition were Dr. Rafael Jocson; Dr. Caňa; and The Doctors’ Hospital staff for their support to the Medical Mission project undertaken by the UNO-R and the parish. Also, given recognition was the Rotary Club of Bacolod. Plaques were received by Dr. Nena Samillano and Mrs. April Marie Gonzalez. Likewise, the Parish of San Antonio Abad with Rev. Fr. Farley Santillan gave recognition to the Dr. Jocson, Dr. Caňa, The Doctors’ Hospital and Rotary Club for choosing his parishioners to be recipients of the aids of the groups. UNO-R President Rev. Fr. Eduardo Celiz, OAR and UNO VP-Acad and RBGS Dean Rev. Fr. Albert Pellazar, OAR were present to give the certificates. Mrs. Connie Po, in her welcome message, said the generosity of everyone has brought the project to its social dimension, where the group is now into Medical missions, livelihood training, and feeding programs. In the previous years, the project had sponsored scholarships, beautification of the university grounds and renovation of classrooms in the university. The UNO-R Walk of Fame and Adopt- a-Room project was launched in 2007 with Rev. Fr. Demetrio Peňascoza, OAR, Rev. Fr. Antonio Limchaypo, OAR, Mrs. Agnes Jundos, Mrs. Jean Bayona, Mrs. Ma. Judy B. Legaspi, Mr. Jiggs Kalalang and the late Mrs. Lani Alejandro.
