UNO-R HOLDS TERTIARY SPORTSFEST

To mark the start of the most awaited College Sportsfest 2016 of the University of Negros Occidental-Recoletos, the opening ceremony was held at the University Gymnasium last February 10, 2016 at exactly 8 am. The activity started with the parade of different competing teams representing each college. Rev. Fr. Eduardo I. Celiz, OAR, University President gave the opening remarks while Rev. Fr. Louie F. Gabinete, OAR, Vice-President for Student Welfare, officially opened the event. The lighting of torch was initiated by Dece Mae Tindog, Criminology student and three-time Most Valuable Athlete. Emmanuel Isidto, Engineering student and Sportsfest 2015 Volleyball Men MVP led the Oath of Sportsmanship. Candidates for Ms. Sportsfest 2016 ramped on stage and wisely answered each question given to them. Among the muses from the 7 colleges, Sheira Mae Gendran from the College of Criminal Justice Education was crowned as Ms. Sportsfest 2016. Mr. Dexter Paul Dioso, Director of Students Affairs; Mr. Fritz Palma and Rev. Fr. Louie F. Gabinete, OAR were the judges for the Ms. Sportsfest 2016. Mr. Ericson Rios, University Sports Coordinator, College Deans, governors and staff were also present in the event.
