UNO-R HOSTS REAP K12 MEETING

The Recoletos Educational Apostolate in the Philippines (REAP) K-12 Readiness Monitoring Meeting was held at UNO-R Presidents’ Hall, November 23, 2015. REAP President Rev. Fr. Julius Marcos, OAR shared the desired outcomes of the said meeting which were: to monitor the readiness of the REAP schools in offering Senior High School; to update REAP with the K-12 status of the recollect schools in the country; to create awareness among the Recoletos schools of the strategies; to check on the status of the Comprehensive K-12 Transition Work Plan (CK-12TWP) in every school; and to exercise the communitarian spirit among recoletos schools in the Philippines. The participants came from San Sebastian College-Recoletos, Cavite City and other recoletos schools such as San Sebastian College (Manila and Canlubang), University of San Jose (Cebu City), Colegio San Nicolas de Tolentino (Talisay City), Colegio de Santo Tomas (San Carlos City), San Pedro Academy (Poblacion and Caidiocan both in Valencia) and University of Negros Occidental (Bacolod City). The meeting started with a prayer and the reading of spiritual input from the speech of Pope Francis to the teachers and students in Ecuador by Rev. Fr. Josef Ocheda, OAR of SSC-R, Cavite. Fr. Marcos presented each participant. Each school were then made to present their strategies and K-12 programs. Then schools were clustered for specific program and strategy discussion for K-12 strategic collboration. The activity ended with the presentation of recommendations for K-12 Strategic Collaboration of Recollect Cluster schools and other matters. The meeting ended with a closing prayer at around 7 pm.
