UNIVERSITY CELEBRATES CATHOLIC FAITH FESTIVAL.

The university campus was transformed into a biblical and historical landscape as Religious Education students marched their way to the gymnasium in their biblical characters and Saints costumes.
UNO-R Religious Education department celebrated the “Catholic Faith Festival 2015”, September 24-25, 2015 at the university campus. The festival opened with a Eucharistic celebration, at the University Gymnasium. With the theme: “Enhancing UNO-R Catholic Culture in the OAR International Year of Educational Apostolate.” The activity was spearheaded by Rev. Fr. Abraham Latoza, OAR, VP-Religious Education and Director of Religious Education with the REED faculty and staff. REAP President Rev. Fr. Julius Marcos, OAR was the main celebrant and was joined by nine concelebrating OAR Priests. Fr. Marcos shared the real meaning of Love. He said that in Love anyone will do everything, even to suffer. Love entails suffering, and there is no Love, when there is no suffering. Do not be afraid to love and to suffer. He further said that one has to love God above all things and love their neighbors. He encouraged the students to increase their knowledge about Jesus, the more you know Jesus the more you will fall in love with Him. Opening ceremonies followed with the Opening Remarks of Dr. Dennis Madrigal and the declaration of the Catholic Faith Festival at UNO-R by Fr. Latoza. An Inspirational Message was given by Father President. COSPLAY of Biblical characters and saints costumes followed. A logo making and photo contest, short Film screening; Church-Building contest; On-the-spot poster making contest; Brain challenge; Song writing contest; and dance interpretation were the simultaneous activity on the first day. The second day activities started with the Mass and Confirmation at the Gymnasium. Para-liturgy, Clean-up Drive and tree profiling, amazing race, Praise and worship, Presentation of short-films and photography entries, awarding of winners and cultural show were activities of the second day. A closing liturgy culminated the festival. (Plinky Garcia, BSMC 3)
