UNO-R HOSTS RESEARCH PARTNERSHIP ORIENTATION

An Orientation on Partnership Agreement for the conduct of the University of the Philippines Emerging Interdisciplinary Research Program (UP-EIDR) project team lead by Dr. Edna Co was met by the team represented by Fr. Edcel Celiz, OAR, University President, Dr. Mona Freda Secondes, UNO-R RPDO Director and Ms. Mely Flores, UNO-R UCDO Supervisor.

The UP Research Team is composed of Dr. Edna E. Co, Executive Director, Center for Integrative and Development Studies; Dr. Ruben Caragay, Dean College of Medicine, Bicol University, Daraga, Albay; Dr. Jennifer Madamba, Senior Research Assistant, UP-EIDR Project; The team proposes for possible partnership with the university on the conduct of the research project entitled: “Towards an Enhanced Health Care System by community Participatory Research for Advocacy to LGU’s, DOH, PITAH and PHIC.”

The UNO-R Research Team represented to the group the advocacies undertaken by the University in terms of research and community development while the UP-Manila team presented the possibility of partnership with UNO-R in the conduct of the study in the selected barangays in the municipalities of Murcia and Isabela, Negros Occidental.
Certain provisions of the Memorandum of Agreement between UNO-R and UP-Manila were tackled and discussed. Dr. Caragay, on the part of UP-Manila and UNO-R VP- Academics, Rev. Fr. Albert Pellazar, OAR on the part of UNO-R, gave their respective hopes and aspirations as to the success of the partnership in their closing remarks.
