Themed, “Developing and fostering camaraderie, friendship and quality service in an Augustinian Way,” the Recoletos Educational Assistance for Deserving Students (READS) scholars of the University of Negros Occidental – Recoletos attended the Bacolod City Augustinian Working Scholars Association Fellowship Day on December 5, 2010 at Colegio San Agustin – Bacolod.
“This gathering surely developed the communication and relationship among working scholars of different schools,” Erwin Nicavera, UNO – R READS President said. “This also helped us to work with each other easily toward achieving common goal,” he added.
Other participating Augustinian schools were La Consolacion College – Bacolod and Colegio San Agustin – Bacolod.
The activity started with a Mass followed by an inspirational talk by Fr. Wilson Capellan, OSA, CSAB Vice President for External Affairs. A get together activity and presentation ended the first part.
UNO – R representative Reysa Escañan and Benjie Placido won 2nd place in Vocal Duet. Selected READS also competed for Pop Dance and won first place.
Highlighting the afternoon’s activity was the Search for Mr. and Ms. BCAWSA 2010.
UNO – R representatives Arjean Udani, Karren Perartilla, Gerarld Pepito and Aiken Sanico competed in their Shout Out Attire Category, School Uniform Category and in Question and Answer portion. Sanico and Perartilla were hailed as 2nd and first runners – up respectively.
The symbolic exchange of tokens among the 3 participating schools ended the said activity.
