UNO-R Holds 2-Day Seminar

A Two –day seminar workshop on Teaching with the Learner in Mind and Gearing up for self-directed learning was held at the University of Negros Occidental – Recoletos President’s Hall last August 24 and 25,2010.

Opening ceremonies include the Invocation by UNO-R Vice President for Student Welfare, Fr. Dexter Palagtiosa,OAR ; Welcome remarks by Fr. Joel Alve,OAR, VP-Academics.  Introduction of the speaker was done by Mrs. Ma. Theresa Chavez while the presentation of the participants was done by Mrs. Nemia Tan. Rev. Fr. Cornelio Moral,OAR, UNO-R VP – Religious Affairs started the second day with the invocation.

 

The speaker – facilitator was Dr. Mardy Dizon – Verano of the University of San Jose – Recoletos, Cebu. Her topics include Teaching with the Learner in Mind for the first day  and Gearing up for Self-Directed Learning on the second day.

 

The first day focused on the topics: Teaching and Learning in style and Learner-centered Strategies.  The second day topic focused on Modular Learning and Process of Module Design and Development.

 

The program closed with a closing prayer by Rev. Fr. Joel  Alve, OAR. The seminar workshop was sponsored by the UNO-R College of Education under Dean Ofelia Posecion, Ph.D.
