The whole community of the University of the University of Negros Occidental-Recoletos witnessed the installation of the 14th Recollect President of UNO-R, Fr. Dionisio C. Cachero, OAR, during the investiture rites after the celebration of the Mass of the Holy Spirit yesterday, June 24, at the UNO-R Gymnasium.  The main celebrant was Rev. Fr. Regino Z. Bangcaya, OAR, Prior of the Province of St. Ezekiel Moreno.

 
At the Investiture Rites, Fr. Emeterio Buñao, OAR, UNO-R Prior, read the letter of appointment.  Fr. Bangcaya, who was assisted by Recoletos de Bacolod Graduate School Consultant Dr. Ma. Dolores Ramos, then presented this appointment to Fr. Cachero.  After Father President delivered the Profession of Faith, Fr. Joel Alve, OAR, Vice President for Academics, donned the academic robe to Fr. Cachero.  Fr. Alve was assisted by Dr. Juanita Magan, Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences, and Dr. Jose Ferraris, Director of the Student Development and Placement Center.

The Presidential Medallion was next to be presented by Fr. Eduardo Celiz, OAR, Vice President for Finance, who was assisted by Dean of the College of Criminal Justice Education, Mrs. Jasmin Parreño, and Dean of the College of Engineering, Engr. Christopher Taclobos.

Fr. Dexter Palagtiosa, OAR, Vice President for Student Welfare, presented the University Mace together with Mrs. Carmenda Leonoras, University Registrar, and Mr. Carlos Eduardo Legaspi, Jr., Director of Student Affairs.  The Vision-Mission of UNO-R was given by Fr. Cornelio E. Moral, OAR, Vice President for Religious Affairs.  He was assisted by Dr. Ofelia Posecion, Dean of the College of Education, and Dr. Elmer Haro, Dean of the College of Information Technology.

The presentation of the roles and functions of the University President followed.  Fr. Walthrode Conde, OAR, Director of the Human Resource Management Office, handed the SEAP handbook to Fr. Cachero.  With Fr. Conde were Dr. Elvi Lucila Bajador, Dean of the College of Nursing, and Dr. John Clifford Salugsugan, Dean of the College of Business and Accountancy.

University Chaplain and Director of the Campus Ministry Office, Fr. Excel Saycon, OAR, presented the Bible together with Dr. Evangeline Aboyo, Director of the University Community Development Office, and Dr. Roy John dela Torre, Director of the Research Planning and Development Officer.

Atty. John Paolo Villasor, Dean of the UNO-R School of Law, read the introduction of the new UNO-R President.
