The Office of the President and the Web Team, organized a two-day seminar workshop on News, Sports and Feature Writing held at the President’s Hall last January 25 and 26, 2008. The said seminar aimed to promote and develop the writing skills of participants.
Twenty-seven high school and college student editors, school paper advisers and other professionals attended the said seminar- workshop.
The resource speakers, all former faculty of the Mass Communication Department of the UNO-R were Mr. Allen del Carmen (News Writing), the Visayan Daily Star Editor;
Mr. Henry Villalba (Sports Writing), Sun Star Bacolod and Sports Jam Host; Mr. Ma. Lina “Marlin” Sanogal (Feature Writing), Public Information Officer, Province of Negros Occidental.
Rev. Fr. Sixto M. Bitangjol, OAR, the Acting President, thanked the resource speakers and suggested to have a similar activity by next month focusing on Opinion Writing, Campus Journalism, and Copy Editing.
