3 UNO-RIANS QUALIFY IN THE PHILIPPINE TEAM POOL

THREE alumni lady Rams, under the mentorship of coach Jason Delmo, had qualified to the Philippine Team pool in women’s beach volleyball, giving them tickets to carry the country’s colors in international tournaments. Jennifer Cosas, Erjane Magdato, and Alexa Polidario are currently with the Abanse Negrense contingent and were among the elite few athletes who tried out for limited and most coveted slots in the national pool, conducted by the Philippine National Volleyball Federation (PNVF) in Subic, last April 28 – 30, 2021. Due to the risk of COVID-19 virus transmission with cases in Luzon rising again, PNVF has decided to allow the three athletes to start their training here in Negros. UNO-R volleyball coach Jason Delmo was commissioned by PNVF to train the lady Rams while they are here in the province. With his experience as a former athlete and long-time coach, plus the many championship titles his volleyball teams have earned, the PNVF has given their full trust in him. The RP Team will be preparing for this year’s Tokyo Olympics in July and Southeast Asian Games from November to December. Cosas, Magdato, and Polidario are not only the pride of the Recoletos community but the Negros Province, as well. (Mrs. Elma Cosas, UNO-R Sports Moderator)
