Hon. Guia Gomez, San Juan City Mayor and Alumna and valedictorian of Grade School class ’54 of Occidental Negros Institute (ONI) graced the Grand Alumni Homecoming, September 29 at the university Gymnasium. She was invited to be the guest speaker of the homecoming sponsored by Class ’93. Gomez, in her speech told the alumni how proud she is to be an alumna of ONI, UNO and UNO-R. She also said that it broke her heart when after 2nd year High School she had to leave her alma mater and classmates for her family transferred to Davao. She also told the alumni to continue in supporting the university , her beloved alma mater. She is also the adopted alumna of High School class ’58.
