The College of Arts and Sciences celebrated its College day last August 10, 2018. It opened with the CAS Honors Convocation at the University President’s Hall at 9 am. Dr. Annabee Magbanua-Claur welcomed the parents, students and faculty while Engr. Christopher Taclobos, University Registrar, gave the message and inspirational talk. The Dean and the Faculty of the college honored 6 gold awardees; fourteen silver awardees and thirty–nine Bronze awardees. The passers of the recent Agriculture Board Examination were also recognized. Dr. Richelle Verdeprado, RSW of the Social Work Department gave the closing remarks.
The Literary-Musical completion and search for Mr. and Ms. CAS capped the day’s activities. Oration, Impromptu (Filipino and English), Binalaybay, Vocal Solo, Vocal Duet, Hiphop and Group MTV were the events contested by the four Departments. Mr. Stevenson Toresis (Agri) and Marionne Dela Minez (Masscomm) were named Mr. and Ms. CAS. Mass Communication Department got the over-all champion award. The night ended with the singing of the Blue and Gold hymn.
