After the Mass of the Holy Spirit, Rev. Fr. Don Hormillosa Besana, OAR was installed as the 17th Recollect President of the University of Negros Occidental – Recoletos. The program opened with the relinquishment message of Fr. Eduardo S. Celiz, Jr., OAR, UNO-R President, Triennium 2015-2018. Presentation of Plaque to Fr. Celiz by Fr. Selma followed. Fr. Villaflor, OAR, REAP President and Recoletos de Bacolod House Prior, read the letter of Appointment of the new President who then Professed his Faith publicly. The Vice President for Academics Fr. Alipin, OAR was assisted by the deans of the Colleges of Engineering and Arts and Sciences donned the Academic Gown to Fr. Besana. Vice President for Administration, Fr. Gealon, OAR was assisted by the Dean of the Colleges of Education and Information Technology invested the Presidential Medallion to the new President. The University Mace was presented by Fr. Lucero, OAR, VP-Student Welfare, with the assistance of Engr. Christopher Taclobos, UNO-R Registrar; and the Dean of the College of Business and Accountancy. The Presentation of the Vision –Mission of the university to the President is Fr. Palomar, OAR, VP-Religious Affairs with Dr. Sheila Arnibal of the College of Allied Medical Health Sciences and Director of Student Affairs, Dr. Dexter Paul Dioso. Fr. Conde, OAR, UNO-R HRMDO with Associate Director, Dr. Carmenda Leonoras and Dr. Dennis Madrigal, Graduate School Associate Dean presented to the New President his roles and functions. Presentation of the Bible by Fr. Jadulco, OAR with Criminal Justice Education Dean, Dr. Jasmin Parreño and ICTD Mariano Antenor preceded the Introduction of the new president by Dr. Carlos Eduardo Legaspi, Jr. The new President then delivered his Inaugural Address. Statements of support were delivered by Fr. Decena, OAR, Director of Basic Education; Dr. Monafreda Secondes, Research and Development Director; Dr. Angelus Diamante, Alumni President; Engr. Noli Ortiz, UNOFELA President; and John Lewis Pabilona, President, student government. Atty. John Paola Villasor, MSc, Dean of the School of Law will give the closing message.
