CB&A sponsors Entreprenurial Seminar

The College of Business and Accountancy sponsored a two-day seminar on “Updates of Entrepreneurial Skills” last February 6 and 7, 2009 at the Fr. Cuenca Hall.  Resource Speaker was Dr. Victoria Sy, Professor at the Graduate School of University of San Jose-Recoletos, Cebu City.

HM International Interns granted US Visa

 

Four students of the Hospitality Management (HM) Department of the College of Business and Accountancy were granted last January 27 their U.S. visas in line with their application for the U.S. Practicum/Cultural Exchange Program at Seaworld and Discovery Cove in San Antonio, Texas starting March 2009.

21 HRM Students Pass the Initial Screening for U.S. Practicum

      Dream Search International, an agency that facilitates the Cultural – Exchange Program for HRM/Tourism Students in the U.S.A., conducted an initial screening for the HRM students of UNO – Recoletos last August 5. Prior to this, an orientation was held last August 4 to all HRM students and their parents at the university auditorium. The agency presented to them the benefits, opportunities and the cost of the program. Out of more than a hundred attendees, 21 HRM students took and passed the examination and interview last August 5 at the Hospitality Training Center.

Blessing and Inauguration at UNO-R

 

The Fr. Mauricio Ferrero Hall of the University of Negros Occidental – Recoletos was blessed and inaugurated last December  5, 2007.  The rites started with an opening prayer by Rev. Fr. Raul Buhay, OAR , UNO-R Vice President –Academics.  Welcome remarks was given by Rev. Fr. Emeterio Buñao, OAR, UNO-R Director of Scholarships and Mr. Modesto Sa-onoy, Negros Occidental historian, gave a background on Padre Mauricio Ferrero, OAR.

June 1, 2007, on the occasion of the birthday of UNO-R’s Vice President for Academics, Fr. Raul Buhay,OAR, the University of Negros Occidental – Recoletos broke ground for its latest addition to its infrastructure development, the Hotel and Restaurant Management (HRM) Laboratory.
