The students of UNO-Recoletos College of Arts and Sciences, Mass Communication Society, Tolentine Star, Kabataan-Rekoleto, Supreme Student Government (UNOSSGO) and the Campus Organization Federation(COF) held a short program and candle lighting ceremony commemorating the 9th month anniversary of the Maguindanao Massacre at the Paseo Rekoleto last August 23, 2010.

UNO-R Vice President Joel Alve, OAR, in his acknowledgement and inspirational message on the occasion of the official book launching of Biology: A Laboratory Manual and the College Physics 1 Laboratory Manual, encouraged the members of the College of Arts and Sciences and the whole UNO-R community to follow the examples of book authors, CAS Faculty Ronnie Gicana and Dr. Vilma Azucena, by becoming book writers.
Two instructional materials, Biology: A Laboratory Manual and the College Physics 1 Laboratory Manual, were officially launched on July 16 at the President’s Hall of University of Negros Occidental-Recoletos.
Janna Mary Lagare and Glezia Marie Perez, alumni of UNO-Recoletos were among the 18 regional finalists from Region VI for the Ten Outstanding Students of the Philippines (TOSP). They are attending the Regional Formation workshop in Iloilo City from April 4 to 10, 2010. The awarding will be on April 10,2010.
The University of Negros Occidental – Recoletos ,PAASCU accredited level III, College of Arts and Sciences celebrated a three-in-one activity from March 3 – 5, 2010. The Social/behavioral Sciences Department; the Natural Science, Math and Agriculture Department and the Mass Communication Department simultaneously held activities.
All-time achievers Mrs. Marian Eusoya, Head of the Medical Technology Department of the College of Arts and Sciences, is the National Honoree in the Search for “The Many Faces of the Teacher for 2009”, sponsored by Bato Balani Foundation, Inc. and Diwa Foundation. The search is an advocacy campaign to recognize and honor Filipino teachers as role models who can inspire excellence by virtue of their dedication to their profession. Mrs. Eusoya was awarded during the Tribute to Teachers last September 19, 2009 at the Smx Convention Center, Pasig City.
