Bam Aquino Visits UNO-R Print

Mr. Paolo Benigno “Bam” Aquino, former commissioner of the National Youth Commission, fellow of Asia society Foundation’s Philippines 21 Program, and TAYO (Ten Accomplished Youth Organization) Awardee visited UNO-R on the 15th of January to speak before the students in a forum at the University Auditorium.

UNO-R Masscom Joins 3rd Bishop-Media Forum Print

The whole Mass Communication Department joined the 3rd Bishop-Media Forum held at the Sanctuario de La Salle last January 14.  The forum was the first of a series of candidates’ fora spearheaded by the Diocese of Bacolod Commission on Social Communications.

UNO-R Earns Medals in WVPRISAA Print

UNO-R earned medals in the Western Visayas PRISAA Cultural Meet held last December 18-22, 2009 in Roxas City.

The Women Beach Volleyball topped the competition with Ruby Casiple, Jennifer Cosas, and Denise Marie Donasco as frontliners.  Coaches were Jason Delmo and Mark Anthony Danoy.  Meanwhile, Philip Lui Deocadiz and Shandel Revalez also emerged as Champions in the Latin-American Dance Sports Competition.  Coordinator was Ruel Calansingin.

UNO-R also earned the First Runner-Up in Men Beach Volleyball, Men Table Tennis, Women Table Tennis, and Men Sepak Takraw.  In addition, several UNO-R athletes were selected as members of the NOPSSCEA teams which placed Champion in the Men Football; Champion in the Men Basketball; Champion in the Women Chess; Champion in the Men Lawn Tennis; 1st Runner-Up in the Men Chess; 1st Runner-Up in the Men Athletics; and 1st Runner-Up in the Women Athletics.

 
CCJE to Hold Criminology Days Print

The College of Criminal Justice Education (CCJE) will hold its Criminology Days from January 14-16, 2010.

The Opening Program on the first day will take place at the Amphitheater after the foot parade originating from the UNO-R Grandstand.  Criminology Olympics featuring Basketball and Volleyball for Men and Women follows the Exhibition Game between UNO-R CCJE students and RTS Team.  A Quiz Bowl is scheduled in the afternoon of the same day.

Meanwhile, activities for the second day include a Clean-Up Drive, Criminology Games, Debate, and Firearm Dismantling and Assembly.  The 3-day affair caps with a Firing Competition, Syposium on Anti-Violence Against Women and Children, Championship Match for Basketball and Volleyball, Martial Arts Exhibition, Variety Show, and Salo-Salo sa Dinner for the CCJE Dean, faculty, staff, and students.
