Lost Library Materials

The loss of books should be reported immediately to the librarian. Do not ignore notices about the book in the hope that it will turn up.

Students are liable for the current replacement cost of a book plus a service fee.

Holds

If a book is already charged out, a HOLD may be placed on it at the Circulation Desk. The borrower will be notified when the book has been returned.

Recalls

All books are subject to recall after the loan period if they are sought by another borrower.

Overdue Notices

As courtesy to the borrower and to render better service to other readers, the library sends an overdue notice after a few days a book is due. Failure to receive such notice does not excuse the borrower nor exempt him/her from responsibility.

Exit Control Desk

Inspection of books and other things are made at the Exit Control Desk. The convenience of an open stack collection is offset by the need to establish control over materials leaving the building. All library users are expected to cooperate in this procedure since the checker is under instruction not to make exceptions.

Reminder:

Don’t forget to leave your bags, folders and envelopes at the deposit counter. Lost book should be reported immediately to the librarian to stop the overdue fines.

Conduct in the Library

  1. Silence must be observed at all times inside the library.
  2. Eating, idle conversation and doing industrial work are not allowed.
  3. Cleanliness and orderliness must be observed.
  4. Leave used books at the center of the table.
  5. Push back chairs slowly after use.
  6. When you are using the library books, keep the pages absolutely free from marking and mutilation.
  7. Always clean your hands before using library books/materials.
  8. Hiding, attempting to steal or stealing and/or mutilating any library property is punishable. Students who mutilate any library property must also pay for the whole value of the property.
