Admission Policies

  • All freshmen and transfer students who desire to enroll in UNO-R are required to take the College Admission Test (CAT) administered by the Student Development and Placement Center.
  • Other academic entrance requirements vary with the status of prospective students and the degree program he/she desires to enroll in.
  • The University reserves the right not to accept any applicant who does not meet the standards and requirements of the program in which he/she desires to enroll.

Retention Policies

Freshmen

  • Those who pass 50% or more of the total units they were enrolled in for a particular semester will be re-admitted for the succeeding semester;
  • Those who pass 25% to 49% of the total units they were enrolled in for a particular semester will be re-admitted for the succeeding semester subject to the provisions of the Academic Probation contract;
  • Those who pass less than 25% of the total units they were enrolled in for the semester will be denied admission for the succeeding semester.

Upperclassmen

  • Those who pass 50% or more of the total units they were enrolled in for a particular semester will be re-admitted for the succeeding semester;
  • Those who pass 30% to 49% of the total units they were enrolled in for a particular semester will be re-admitted subject to the provision of the Academic Probation contract;
  • Those who pass less than 30% of the total units they were enrolled in for a particular semester will be denied admission for the succeeding semester.

Transferees

  • In the semester where they first enrolled, transfer students are under academic and disciplinary probation. They must pass all units in that semester in order for them to be readmitted in the next semester.
